Welcome to the web site of Drayton Garden Village, a 21st century answer to suburban living.

Inland Developments Ltd purchased the former National Air Traffic Services site in West Drayton in January 2009. The planning application submitted on Monday 2 November 2009, is the result of a lengthy public consultation process with local residents and businesses.

What the public are now being invited by The London Borough of Hillingdon to comment on is a scheme which essentially local residents said they wanted.

Local residents' had some concerns which were also Inland's concerns. The greatest worries were over parking and too much social housing. Therefore, in addition to the 775 residential properties, there will be 1,122 car parking spaces and a lower than average amount of affordable housing. Almost two-thirds of the whole site will be taken up with houses and gardens. Inland's vision is to produce a place to live that is a leafy suburb. New tree-lined avenues with pedestrian links to the town centre and large open spaces themed over the four seasons will encourage people to walk and cycle rather than drive.

A new medical centre catering for those in the existing community as well as new residents and an 80-bedroom care home were both on local people's "wish list."

Finally, by working closely with local residents and the officers of The London Borough of Hillingdon, Inland respected another important desire of the local community - a scheme which brought additional facilities to the area and improved the environment rather than give them problems. The local community did not want to face another ministerial decision that went over the heads of local people and the local council. Inland consulted at "grassroots" level and not only listened to local people but acted on their views and comments.
