A 21st Century Village

A suburban renaissance

Sometimes the old ideas are the soundest. The Garden City movement has its origins in the 1930s, and was then a radical concept of building modern homes in a landscaped setting where everyone could benefit from fresh air, gardens and natural landscaped features. Efficient new public transport meant people could live a country lifestyle but still be within easy range of the city for work. It was when most of the London suburbs developed, and it's clear that for many, this is still an ideal way to live.

New homes on old land

At Drayton Garden Village we are happily reverting to these tried and tested principles, because they have just as much, if not more, relevance today. By creating a new Garden Village from the old RAF West Drayton site, redundant land takes on an important new function, providing much needed new homes without taking precious Green Belt land.

Planned for today's way of life

Planning the village from scratch means we are able to include the outdoor space people yearn for: village greens, private gardens where neighbours can chat over the fence, boulevards edged by trees, hedgerows and flowers, safe places for children to play. Almost two thirds of the entire development consists of homes with generous gardens. This has even more relevance today when bio-diversity and sustainability should be encouraged as much as possible, and gardening and 'growing your own' are essential to a satisfying quality of life for many people.

Join the community

Drayton Garden Village is a great opportunity to return to the traditional suburban lifestyle, but in an energy efficient home of striking contemporary design. A vibrant new community is growing: why not be part of it all?
